Products made of cast iron by Skeppshult evenly and effectively conduct and retain heat. This makes Skeppshult cast iron ideal for baking. Seasoned dishes get a genuine color on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. Due to their high heat retention capacity, cast iron pans are ideal for serving directly at the table.

In the production of cast iron at the Skeppshult foundry, no colors or other chemicals are used. When cooking with oil, a thin natural layer forms on the surface of the cast iron, preventing food from sticking - a natural "non-stick" feature, while also creating a beautiful black patina. The appealing appearance and "non-stick" properties are further enhanced by Skeppshult's treatment of their products with natural rapeseed oil, making them partially "seasoned" already at the time of purchase and ready for immediate use. Before the first use, the manufacturer recommends a brief rinse with hot water to remove any dust.

Skeppshult cookware is made of cast iron approximately 6 mm thick, which retains heat for a long time and distributes it evenly. They are safe to use on glass-ceramic stoves, and one reason for this is that cast iron is a softer material than glass or ceramics.
